The John Muir Trail – Sierra Nevadas, California

The John Muir Trail passes through some of the finest mountain scenery I’ve ever seen: multiple passes over 10,000 feet, pristine lakes, granite cliffs and breathtaking vistas. On this trip, I hiked for twelve days through a middle section of the 211 mile trail, starting at Reds Meadow and ending at South Lake.

The trail runs from Yosemite Valley to Mount Whitney, in California. Winding through the Sierra Nevada mountains, the JMT passes through Yosemite National Park, John Muir Wilderness, Ansel Adams Wilderness, Kings Canyon National Park and Sequoia National Park.
