Battleship Mountain – Superstition Wilderness, Arizona By cactuskevJanuary 17, 2020 ( 2 ) The Superstitions might be my favorite backpacking destination in the world! The solitude, the views, the unique flora – all add up to an amazing wilderness experience. So serene and healthy. Hmmm ‘That was close’’ Please explain? 🙂 Reply ↓ cactuskev January 18, 2020 • 12:17 am It was probably my best trip out there yet! “That was close” is a little bit of a joke… the cliff had fallen away just inches from that cholla cactus. So when I saw it, I thought the cactus was saying “Whew! That was close!” Of course, the plant is probably only a decade old, and the rock probably fell away hundreds of years ago!
