I just spent a fantastic week in the desert, counting my beloved Saguaros! Saguaro National Park leads a recurring research project that studies the long-term dynamics of saguaro cactus, an iconic and keystone species impacted by – and yet resilient to – climate change. I joined a team of people called the Adventure Scientists and together we counted, measured and geotagged thousands of Saguaros in some of the roughest, densest areas of the park.
