The High Sierra Trail – Sequoia National Park to Mount Whitney

The High Sierra trail is a wonderful backpacking trail through the Sierra Nevada Mountain range in California. It begins at Crescent Meadow in Sequoia national Park and passes over the Great Western Divide at Kaweah Gap on the way to the summit of Mount Whitney, the highest peak in the continental United States at 14,505 feet. The total length from the trailhead to the Whitney Portal is 72 miles.
